What’s your favourite travel story?
Travel has given me many defining moments, but a few stand out as experiences that truly shaped who I am today. From chasing childhood dreams to stepping far outside my comfort zone, each journey has added a new layer to my story.
• Leaving my corporate job to follow travel full time:
My first trip to the Maldives changed everything. I was staying in a beautiful tropical resort, looking out at the endless blue and a thought crossed my mind: “What if this wasn’t just a vacation… but my life?” That moment slowly shaped the purpose I follow today.
• My first dive in the Maldives:
The first time I went underwater and saw the house reef with my own eyes, I literally held my breath—not from fear, but from awe. The colors, the fish, the feeling of another world beneath the surface… it was unforgettable.
• Seeing Mount Fuji during cherry blossom season:
As a child, I once saw a photo of Mount Fuji framed by cherry blossoms in a magazine. It became a top bucket-list dream and in 2019, I finally stood there and saw it with my own eyes.
• Hiking an active volcano three times:
Most people do it once. I went back three times to Mount Bromo in East Java, Indonesia. Watching the sunrise over an active volcano is something I never get tired of.
What is the one thing you don’t travel without?
My camera — it helps me capture the places and moments I never want to forget.
