What’s your favourite travel story?

The Four Seasons Explorer Maldives experience was one of the most amazing trips of my life. One night, we hopped from the yacht into a speedboat to take us to a private island for dinner. Midway there, the skipper stopped the boat and let it just float in the middle of the ocean. We were surrounded by pitch black sky studded with so many stars, as if within reach of our hands. We were all awed into silence for a while. Then we sailed to a private island where we sat and ate at a table and seats made by the staff from the beach sand, just for that special dinner. It’s still the most spectacular memory of any beach holiday I’ve had. (Note: The Four Seasons Explorer yacht has relocated from the Maldives to Palau since 2023.)

What is the one thing you don’t travel without?

I never travel without a framed photo of my dog. Plus, never leave home without travel insurance. For Singaporeans, we can register our travels with the Singapore Ministry for Foreign Affairs prior to our trips, which is useful in case we need help from the Singapore Embassy at the destination (especially far-flung locales) we’re visiting.
